Talion bots 2.0: Orion, Cortex and Lasker3000
https://talionchess.com

Three free UCI engines, each with its own level and style:

Orion about 2150 Elo Attacking player. White: 1.e4 and 1.d4, main lines + an aggressive Catalan.
Black: Classical Sicilian, King's Indian Defense.
Cortex about 2300 Elo Very aggressive. White: 1.e4 full of gambits (Vienna, King's, Morra...).
Black: Chameleon Slav, Albin, Benko, Jaenisch, Latvian, Traxler.
Lasker3000 about 3000 Elo Full strength, objective. He can use your PGN repertoire, or think for
                              himself from move one.

Levels measured against Stockfish set to the same Elo, in fast games: a ballpark, not a FIDE rating.

INSTALLING
1. Unzip this folder somewhere permanent (for example Documents\ChessBase\Engines\Talion-bots).
2. ChessBase: Home > Engine > Create UCI Engine. Fritz: Engine > Create UCI Engine.
3. Pick Orion.exe, Cortex.exe or Lasker3000.exe. Repeat for each bot.
They also work in Arena, Cute Chess, BanksiaGUI, Lucas Chess, Scid and any UCI software.
Lasker3000-popcnt.exe is a little faster on recent processors (from about 2009).
If it does not start, use Lasker3000.exe.

USEFUL OPTIONS
UCI_LimitStrength / UCI_Elo Limited strength (Orion and Cortex default to their level).
Aggression 100 = objective; higher makes the bot sacrifice more readily (200+: reckless).
Contempt How much the bot avoids draws.
Threads / Hash Cores and memory; raise them to analyse with Lasker3000.
OwnBook Use the built-in repertoire or yours.

YOUR REPERTOIRE
Put a white.pgn and/or black.pgn next to the .exe (or set the White Book / Black Book options).
The bot plays your moves while it is in the file, then thinks for itself.

In infinite analysis every bot calculates at full strength, without a book.
In Talion all three bots are already installed, at their level.
